Now, fast forward to the summer of 1996... I'm on my way to the local Chrysler dealer to pick up some parts, and... there it is! on the side of the road, in an open field... I couldn't believe it... a solid car, no rust, good interior...

I wasted no time contacting the owner and met him the next day. We agreed on a price, and the "L" was mine! Soon I was driving it home, straight to my garage. The drive was fun, no problems.

The paint was badly faded - I wasted no time removing all the chrome and sent the car off to the body shop for a repaint in the original Spanish Red metallic. Mechanically, my "L" turned out to be in surprisingly good shape... a fair amount of time was spent on all the detail stuff, getting the power windows to work, repairing all the gauges, other minor things.

I received my antique plate registration the day before my scheduled goal of taking the car to Fall Hershey 1996. What a ride! The 250 mile run went without any problem, and the "L" attracted a lot of attention at the show.

Fast forward again to 1998... to bring things up to date. The "L", wife Jane and I, had the privilege of attending the Chrysler 300 Club International's Fall meet at Myrtle Beach. It was a great trip, the show went really well. We had a blast driving back, together with John Hertog and his 300-L. Love those 70 mph limits in the South!

I truly love my "L", and feel it is one of the better cars of the series.
